17th Masonic District
DeMolay Open House
by Gary J. Olsen, WM; Durand Lodge No.179
Brethren of the 17th Masonic District of New Jersey, it is my honor and pleasure to announce that Durand Lodge No.179 will be hosting a DeMolay Open House. This Open House will take place on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, 7:15PM at Durand Lodge No.179 in Point Pleasant Beach, and it is open to young men ages 12 - 21, and their parents, who are family and/or friends of Masons of the 17th Masonic District.
There will be an interesting educational presentation about the DeMolay organization with plenty of time to answer questions. There will be fellowship and light refreshments immediately following the presentation.
My Brethren, I can not stress enough how important the DeMolay is to Freemasonry. It is the first door that opens directly into our beloved Masonic Fraternity from our youth groups. If you have friends, brothers, cousins, nephews, children or grandchildren, come out and support the DeMolay and Freemasonry. I am looking forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Gary J. Olsen, WM

Add a commentThe Troops Say Thank You
by Donald P. Dudley, Caesarea Lodge No. 64
The 'Packages for Our Troops Program' was a huge sucess with our troops in Afganistan. I would like to share with you this
email I received from Major Douglas Warren. Major Warren is in command of one of the units in Afghanistan that received our care packages.
As you can see from the attached note that we included in each care package, no individual's name or contact information appears anywhere on the note. It was impressive that Major Warren took the time to research how to contact us and to send a thank you note. It was through the 17th Masonic District website, a valuable tool to spread the word, that Maj. Warren was able to find us. His determination to locate us, really shows how much our Troops appreciated getting those packages.
Once again, I want to say thank you to each and everyone that made our first attempt at this program a success. I'm looking forward to working with each of you on our next "Package for Our Troops" project.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Don Dudley

Don,
I found your name on the 17th Masonic District web site and wanted to
drop you a line.
My organization received a box of care packages and all had the attached
flyer inside so I searched ya'll out on Google.
Please pass on a big "Thank You" to all associated folks who helped out
with preparing the care packages. You made quite a few personnel here
happy and we appreciate the fact that ya'll care enough to put the
packages together.
Thanks,
Doug.
